If you’re from Mars and don’t know Orbert Davis’ work, the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic is a 55- piece orchestra that combines classical and jazz music elements into a seamless ensemble. Orbert Davis is one of the preeminent trumpeters in the country. He has performed with Kurt Elling, Wynton Marsalis, Ramsey Lewis, Stevie Wonder, and Dr. John, among others. His music has appeared in a host of films including “The Road to Perdition,” with Tom Hanks.
Tammy McCann has been called “the next great voice coming out of Chicago,” by Chicago Tribune Jazz critic Howard Reich. She changed careers from classical singer to jazz and has gotten rave reviews for her performances.
