James William Buffet calls his music “Drunken Caribbean Rock and Roll.” Buffet began his career in Nashville as a country artist in the 60s. He developed his laid back style of music after touring in Florida several times. In 2003, Jimmy Buffet released his “It’s Five O’ Clock Somewhere” song which topped the country charts. He has released over thirty albums, with eight gold and nine platinum and multi platinum hits to his credit. Jimmy Buffet is an ardent conservationist, helping to save endangered species of Florida.
The current Coral Reefer Band features Michael Utley on keyboards, Robert Greenidge on steel drums, Pete Mayer on guitar and vocals, Roger Guth on drums, Nadirah Shakur on backup vocals, Doyle Grisham on pedal steel guitar, trumpeter John Lovell, and Eric Darken on percussion.
