The Midwest Wizard of Oz Fest will feature rides, food, guest speakers and a whole lot more Oz stuff! Guest speakers: John Fricke, an Oz historian and author. Mary Ellen St. Aubin, the “Munchkin by Marriage” whose husband was a Munchkin in the original movie, and Gabriel Gale, author of the “Ages of Oz.”
Highlights: Yellow Brick Road – We recreated The Yellow Brick Road complete with lots of characters and scenes from the movie! Inflatables Kidz Zone – Including a giant racing slide, a farm obstacle course and barn bounce house with slide! Giant Pillow Bouncy for all ages! Hay Rides – A tractor will tow you and group of others on a scenic path around the perimeter of the farm! Duck Races – Challenge friends or family members to an intense rubber ducky race using hand water pumps! Petting Zoo – Goats, Llamas, Ducks and more! Corn Cannons – Shoot Stalks of Corn at a high rate of speed using air cannons at targets down range! Corn Box – Imagine a giant sandbox with Corn in place of Sand! Zipline – 30 feet high and 120 feet long, sure to get the adrenaline pumping! Cow Train – Dizzying twist and turns on the trackless train! Character Photo Opportunities and Performances – Spirit of OZ Characters are the best in the business!
There will also be a Wizard of Oz puppet show, put on by Stevens Puppets, performing four times throughout the day, as well as a local theater guild performing scenes from the Wizard of Oz.
The Midwest Wizard of Oz Fest is located at the Odyssey Fun Farm, 19111 South Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park.
