Chevere Chicago is a big band under the direction of noted composer, pianist, and harmonica master (he is considered the greatest harmonica player in the world) Howard Levy. It forms and re-forms and plays at noted jazz clubs around the country. The big band plays a fusion of Latin, rock, and folk music. The band’s CD is called “Secret Dream.”

Howard Levy was a founding member of the band Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. The band won a 1997 Grammy Award for “Best Instrumental Performance,” for their song “Sinister Minister.” Levy won a second Grammy Award in 2012 for his instrumental composition “Rocket Science.” Howard Levy has served as a side man for such performers as Bobby McFerrin, Dolly Parton, Dennis DeYoung, and Paquito D’Rivera. He is a regular guest on the weekly NPR radio show, “A Prairie Home Companion.”
